CAT
CAT, from the book of Kells, born on the isle of Iona, in the scriptorium of the famous monastery there, and then in the 8c, taken to Kells in Ireland. Cats are both homely and mysterious. They walk silently, mate noisily, they rid us of pests, their eyes shine in the dark and their pupils change, as does the moon, from round to scresent. They are sacred to the Moon goddess, and familiars of the feminine.
